Thanksgiving Hours, New Mask Policy & Childcare Update

Dear Coop Member:

THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving preparation and shopping are in full swing at the Coop. Shelves are packed with all the ingredients for your holiday meals and information about turkeys and pies is available on foodcoop.com, Instagram and posted around the Coop. Buy your turkey earlier so you won’t be disappointed. The smaller sizes sell very quickly! Delicious plant-based holiday entrée options are available in the freezer section.

The Coop has special shopping hours leading up to and including Thanksgiving.

The shopping hours are:

Monday, 11/20, 8 am – 9 pm

Tuesday, 11/21, 8 am – 9 pm

Wednesday, 11/22, 8 am –  8 pm

Thanksgiving Day, 11/23, 8 am – 12 pm

NEW FACE MASK POLICY

Starting November 22, face masks will be required on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 am – 8 pm on the shopping floor. The October 31 General Meeting approved this new mask policy by a vote of 70-53. The policy applies to shoppers, workers, and staff.

Masks will be available at the entrance desk, but we encourage members to bring their own masks if possible.

CHILDCARE UPDATE

The General Coordinators reported to the September and October General Meetings that the Coop has been unsuccessful in securing an insurance carrier for the childcare room. Furthermore, we announced that childcare would not resume in 2023 as mandated by the GM.  The Coop cannot operate the childcare room without insurance.

The General Coordinators will continue to work with the Coop’s insurance broker to secure insurance. We also met with the sponsors of the GM item to explain the situation and express our continuing efforts to obtain insurance. We will keep the membership informed of any updates as they become available.
