Recalled Products We Have Not Carried

Romaine Lettuce, April 20, 2018 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expanded its E. Coli warning to all types of Romaine lettuce from Yuma, Arizona. The Coop does not stock any variety of romaine lettuce indicated in this recall. Currently the coop is carrying the following Romaine lettuce items:

  • Lady Moon Romaine Lettuce: Lady moon only has farms in Florida, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
  • Organic Girl Salad Mix: Organic Girl has informed consumers on their website that their romaine “is not involved in the romaine illness investigation.” The Coop will continue to sell this salad mix.
  • The Bonipak and Foxy Romaine Hearts we sell are from California. We have confirmed with our distributor that these varieties are not affected by the Yuma, Arizona E. Coli recall.

The CDC recommends you do not buy or eat romaine lettuce at a grocery store or restaurant unless you can confirm it is not from the Yuma, Arizona, growing region. For all the details see the official press release at the FDA website. 

International Harvest, Inc. — Organic Go Smile! Raw Coconut — March 16, 2018

International Harvest, Inc of Mount Vernon, NY is recalling Organic Go Smile! Raw Coconut, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The Coop does not stock the products indicated in this recall. Products include coconuts found in the produce aisle as well as the shredded and chip varieties packaged by Food Processing. Click here for details.

Kroger & Aldi — Apples —December 28, 2017

Apples, such as non-organic 3lb Gala bags as well as loose Fuji and Honeycrisp apples, distributed by Jack Brown Produce, MI – sold by Kroger stores and Aldi in some states. The Coop does not stock the products indicated in this recall. Click here for details.

Yorgo Foods Inc — Hommus and Baba Ghannouj — November 10, 2017

Yorgo Foods Inc of Manchester, NH is recalling select varieties of Hummus and Baba Ghannouj because they are potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. While the Coop does carry Yorgo’s products, we only carry their organic line.  The Coop does not stock the products indicated in this recall.

Papayas sold at the Coop are not impacted by the recall of Mexican non-Organic maradol papayas.

We confirmed with our distributor that we did NOT receive the specific “Best By” dates of the recalled Tate’s 7oz Ginger Zinger Cookies.

Cascadian Farm Frozen Cut Green Beans sold at the Coop are not impacted by the General Mills voluntary recall.
