Personnel Committee Seeks New Members!

The Personnel Committee works closely with the General Coordinators (GCs), the Coop’s upper-level management team, to support people-related and organizational initiatives across the Coop. The Committee is responsible for oversight of the General Manager and works with the General Manager and GC Team on leadership, organizational health, and management systems.

Our work is collaborative and includes advising on personnel policies; recruitment and hiring (including General Coordinators and the General Manager); organizational planning; HR systems and processes; succession planning; and organizational development. Committee members also serve as a resource to the GCs on employee relations and workplace matters.

We are seeking members with at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in areas such as human resources, employment law, organizational development, personnel and team management, finance, or nonprofit leadership. Experience may include work in mission-driven, cooperative, nonprofit, or for-profit environments. Strong candidates bring sound judgment, discretion, objectivity, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Applicants must have at least three (3) years of Coop membership, experience working shifts at the Coop, and excellent attendance.

The Committee meets monthly with the General Manager and/or the General Coordinators on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. In addition to these full committee meetings, members participate in smaller meetings throughout the year with individual GCs or PC members to address specific issues, interviews, and other ongoing committee responsibilities. Members should also expect to spend time outside scheduled meetings reviewing materials and preparing for discussions. While the time commitment varies month to month, this role is best suited for members who can engage consistently and thoughtfully.
