General Meeting Work Credit Returns! & 8/29 GM Reminder
General Meeting Work Credit Program
The July General Meeting approved a new GM work credit program beginning with the September 26 GM. The meeting will resume in person starting in September.
The details of the program are:
- 75 slots for work credit will be available per General Meeting
- Advanced sign-up through the shift calendar is required
- Members can earn one credit per calendar year
- Cancelation and no-show rules apply
- Cancel tickets can be used to cancel the GM shift after the 8:00 p.m. cancelation deadline and up to one hour before the GM begins
- Scheduling a GM slot does not count against the two scheduled shifts limit
The GM shifts will appear on the shift calendar in Member Services every month on the Wednesday AFTER the GM. The first 75 shifts will be available on Wednesday, August 30, for the September 26 GM. Select “General Meeting for work credit” from the drop-down menu in the shift calendar to view available slots.
Attendance will be taken at the END of the General Meeting. Members must attend the entire meeting to receive credit.
The September 26 GM will be at the Picnic House in Prospect Park and begins at 7:00 p.m.
If you have any questions regarding the GM work credit program, don’t hesitate to contact the Office via the Contact Us feature in Member Services or visit the Office during opening hours.
August General Meeting
The Coop invites you to attend the August General Meeting on Tuesday, August 29, at 7:00 p.m. The August meeting will be held on Zoom, and all Coop member-owners are invited. This is the final meeting on Zoom.
* Registration is required to attend. Please sign-up by 5:00 pm on Tue., August 29:
* The Zoom invite will be emailed after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
* Get prepared by reading the GM agenda, preliminary 24-week Financial Statement and
Draft July 2023 General Meeting minutes.
We recommend members attend the General Meeting to have a fuller understanding of your Coop. The GM is where members deliberate on member- or staff-submitted agenda items, listen to reports from member committees, and vote on proposals or elections. It is also an opportunity to hear directly from the staff about the Coop’s finances and operations. Meaningful member participation strengthens our governance system, ensures that the Board of Directors hears from the Coop membership, and upholds the democratic principle at the heart of cooperatives.
We hope you take this opportunity to learn more about your Coop, see its democratic governance system in action, and exercise your right to have your voice heard by the Board.
In Cooperation,
Ann Herpel, General Coordinator
