Register to Attend the Jan 25 GM and Other News

Hello Coop Member,

We have several pieces of news to share with you in addition to inviting you to attend the January General Meeting.

GENERAL MEETING

The Coop’s next General Meeting (GM) is on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Come to hear a report from the Treasurer on the Coop’s 48-week financial statement, reports from the General Coordinators on Coop operations, Committee reports, and to make your voice heard in the Coop’s democratic governance system. There is one voting item on the January agenda.

To participate in and vote at the January GM, you must register by 5:00 pm on Tue., Jan. 25.

Members who pre-register and are eligible to attend will receive an email with the Zoom invite on Jan. 25 after 5:00 pm.

Get prepared by reading the GM agenda, 48-week Financial Statement and Draft Nov 2021 GM minutes.

At the January GM a proposal to improve the way committees, both existing and new, function for and report back to the membership will be voted on. The proposal amends and enhances an GM-approved document that provides guidance to those seeking to form new committees.

We strongly encourage you to make time to attend the January GM. Attendance at the General Meeting has fallen considerably compared to pre-pandemic attendance despite greater availability made possible by the online format. Your participation in our governance process is one of the three important aspects to our member-labor participatory model. The GM is where you get to discuss and vote on important proposals and also to hear directly from the staff about the finances and operations of your Coop. Please come out on Jan. 25 to virtually engage with your Coop community.

YEAR-END INVENTORY SHOPPING HOURS

Sunday, Jan. 30: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 31: 10:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Coop will be conducting its year-end inventory on Sunday, January 30. Shopping hours will be shortened in order for the Coop to make an accurate, thorough account of the inventory. The Coop, including the Membership Office, will close promptly at 1:00 PM.

Shoppers will need to be on line to checkout no later than 1:15 PM on Jan 30. Please plan accordingly.

If you are working a 10:30 AM shift on Jan. 30, you will be allowed to do a brief shop after your shift.

The Coop will be opening at 10:30 am on Monday, Jan. 31, as we need to conduct the on-site visit by the Coop’s auditing firm and receive and restock goods without interruption from shoppers. Some receiving shifts will be working early on Jan 31 so if you are interested in working, please consult the shift calendar.
